Apple's Exchange Rate and iPad Pricing Predictions

A friend of mine is considering buying an Apple iPad when they come out here in the UK in a couple of months. They have yet to announce any UK pricing so I did some investigating and came up with an Apple exchange rate. The pricing for the iPad in the UK could look something like this.

Google Wave

I want an account, really badly. I don't know why. It seems the latest cool think to have. The sort of thing to ask people "Have you got a wave account", "No?" "really" "I Do" except I don't. I've even tried jumping on band wagons to get one. Now I've resorted to this... http://siliconshovel.com/get-google-wave

Don't laugh, you'll be sorry when I get one and you don't have one.

No Night Flights

A good friend of mine from Ramsgate is currently involved in a growing campaign based around proposed expansion plans at Kent International Airport. KIA or Manston as it is know locally is a small airport and it is mainly used for freight and training flights. The owners are looking to increase the number of flights and start using the Airport 24hrs a day. This will ruin the peace and quite of the towns of Thanet. The No Night Flights  campaign is growing and I would urge you to sign their petition. Even if you don't live in the area it is time more local residents stood up for the issues that affect them.

Lila-Lou Unusual Yacht Design Renderings

Lila-Lou who design boats and interiors have released images of a very differently designed boat. The sails seem to stay alongside the hull sliding to avoid shadowing each other and flicking out for running down wind. The Spinnaker is housed at the top of the mast alongside a wind turbine that generates power to move the sails and for other services on board.

Check out the photos after the jump.

An amazing calendar

While reading up about Steampunk, which I only discovered recently as a term from a friend in Ramsgate I discovered this amazing mechanical celestial calendar.

Nice Pie shame it broke my fork.

Whilst eating dinner tonight which was just a snack really as I haven't been feeling too well these past few days, I managed to break a fork. I was eating a 'moo & blue' pie from the good people at pieminister when it managed to break the fork I was using. I have no idea how and I wasn't even pressing hard. The pie was lovely though, beef and stilton and the pastry was great for a bought pie.

Super Duper Factorial

Hmmmm, so you know what a factorial is, but do you know what a Super Duper Factorial is...? Answers in the comments.

I didn't until today and that's what is blog is going to be about, random pieces of information and thoughts from me and others on the web and the world at large. It's also a place for me to collect snippets of information and gobbits that come my way, that you might or might not find interesting.

People often say that you should only write things on a blog others want to read. Well I disagree - it is for me. If others happen to want to read it that is their decision and it's also a good way to write a bit more as I am increasingly finding that I write less these days unless it is in emails of text messages. So it may become an outlet for creativity or me to vent my frustration at something.
