Apple's Exchange Rate and iPad Pricing Predictions

A friend of mine is considering buying an Apple iPad when they come out here in the UK in a couple of months. They have yet to announce any UK pricing so I did some investigating and came up with an Apple exchange rate. The pricing for the iPad in the UK could look something like this.

How did I come up with these figures? I firstly analysed lots of the pricing Apple currently use in their UK store compared to the US one.

Then plotting a chart and adding a trend line to come up with an apple exchange rate.

And it was.... well the reciprocal of the gradient was $1.29 to the £. This is pretty crappy but nothing we can change. This model gave me an equation which I used to make the following predictions for iPad pricing based on what Apple have announced for the iPad in the US.

Then I made my predictions based on some sensible rounding. So what do you think? Will the iPad be worth it - well that's a whole other question!
